The Hawthorne Valley Farm Store is teaming up with their fellow initiatives, Hawthorne Valley Waldorf School and Turose Craft & Gift Shoppe, to raise funds for humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

On the weekend of April 8-9, Hawthorne Valley Waldorf School faculty will present “The Story of Little Twig: A Ukrainian Folktale” and Turose will offer Ukrainian Egg Decorating Workshops (details below). From April 8-16, the Farm Store will hold a “Round Up at the Register for the Ukrainian Relief Fund.” During that week, you have the option to round up each purchase to the nearest dollar or more to support the fundraiser.

Funds raised will be sent to the Friends of Waldorf Education (Freunde der Erziehungskunt Rudolf Steiners e.V.) who have set up an emergency support fund for Ukrainian refugees. This fund is sending financial support to Ukraine to support emergency pedagogy teams who will be working with traumatized Ukrainian children. The types of support will continue to evolve in order to meet the most urgent needs.
