With Diane Barnes, Sheila Johns, Marcela Paz Moreno, and Christina Porkert

The Lyre Association of North America warmly invites you to participate in the 2023 summer conference to be held at the Hawthorne Valley Waldorf School in Ghent, NY, from Sunday, July 30, to Thursday, August 3. A special public concert will feature music by Channa Seidenberg and Maria Schüppel on the evening of Wednesday, August 2, at 7:30 pm at HVWS.

At the conference, we will explore the artistic as well as the musical therapeutic contributions of Maria Schüppel and Channa Seidenberg – anthroposophic composers from either side of the Atlantic – who have left us a rich musical heritage. How lucky we are to have workshop leaders experienced in music and music therapy – Diane Barnes, Sheila Johns, Marcela Paz Moreno, and Christina Porkert.

On Thursday morning, Aug 3, at 9:30 am, we will share the Celtic legend The Children of Lir, with music composed by Maria Schüppel. This will feature music sung and played by conference participants (including youth), and narration by story-teller Laurie Portocarrero.

Musicians of all levels (including beginners!) are most welcome to attend the conference, and we will have rental lyres available for the week. Please see our website at http://lyreassociation.org for more information, or contact lyrists@gmail.com.

Fees:
$400 (add $50 after July 1)
$350 (with LANA member discount)
$50-$100 (for youth)
