THE BEES ARE CALLING US! THE NEW COHORT BEGINS IN MAY!

The honeybees are much more than a honey producer; they are one of the most complex organisms on earth, full of wisdom and so closely related to the human being. Once you embark on this journey of becoming a biodynamic beekeeper and caretaker, your life will be changed for ever. Join the most comprehensive biodynamic beekeeper training in the United States.

The Spikenard Biodynamic Beekeeping Training will be starting its eighth cohort in the Spring of 2022, pairing online content and support through the year with intimate, experiential, hands-on learning at the Honeybee Sanctuary. The objective of this course is for participants to come away with an understanding of both the spiritual and physical conditions that the bees need for their health and vitality, and to learn the beekeeping and land care methods that can serve these conditions. Personal relationship with the bees will be developed through lectures, meditative exercise, artistic work, group discussion, and Goethean studies, and participants will be supported in developing sanctuary in their own communities. Participants must have bees.

This is your last opportunity to join the 2022/2023 cohort of our most intensive beekeeping training. The first class will be held at the Sanctuary from May 19th-21st. The two-year Spikenard Biodynamic Beekeeper Training (SBBT) includes:

  • Practical training in biodynamic beekeeping and agricultural methods
  • Lectures to deepen honeybee anatomy, physiology, and our spiritual understanding of the honeybee through anthroposophy
  • Active participation in group work, project work, and beekeeping
  • Come away with a certification in Spikenard biodynamic beekeeping
