Grail, Cathars, and the Cross with Roses

Who were the Cathars? And what was their connection to the Holy Grail? Whoever wants to obtain a realistic picture of the Cathars in today’s endless sea of superficial media information has a hard time penetrating to the truth. In this February 2022 First Tuesday talk, our speaker, Alex Nitsche, will make a heartfelt effort to clarify some of the mystery.

Alex grew up outside of Stuttgart, Germany. As a young adult, he was drawn to the Grail legends. His spiritual journey began when he discovered Rosicrucianism through the Lectorium Rosicrucian, the Spiritual School of the Golden Rosycross. In 1995, his work brought him to the United States; first to Columbus, Ohio, and then in 2001 to the Ann Arbor, Michigan area. There he was introduced by a friend to the Great Lakes Branch of the Anthroposophical Society. Alex found a strong connection between Rudolf Steiner’s teachings and the experience with his Rosicrucian path. In 2012, Alex joined the Board of the Great Lakes Branch as its Treasurer. He lives in Ann Arbor with his wife Barbara, an Early Childhood Waldorf teacher, and son AJ.
