COMPOSER & PIANIST GRIGORY SMIRNOV PLAYS HIS OWN COMPOSITIONS

Grigory Smirnov will perform a program of his own compositions for piano, followed by a conversation with the audience.

Grigory Smirnov is a composer and pianist working with Eurythmy Spring Valley —both for the school and performing ensemble. His compositions have been performed on major stages worldwide, such as Carnegie Hall, Merkin Concert Hall, Tanglewood Festival, and Moscow Philharmonic Hall, and at international festivals. As a pianist, he performs classical and improvisational music, his own compositions, and music for eurythmy. Most recently, his new works composed for the Eurythmy Spring Valley Ensemble were premiered at the Goetheanum World Conference 2023 in Dornach, Switzerland, and are currently a part of the ensemble’s tour program. Grigory Smirnov also gives lectures and presentations about the spiritual aspects of music. Originally from Siberia, Russia, Grigory Smirnov came to the United States in 2008, and received his Master of Music degree from The Juilliard School.
