FIBER CRAFT STUDIO SERIES, Led by Miho Suzuki, Nao Motomatsu & Milena Bica-Shibata
In ten Saturday workshops from September to June, students in the Art of Clothing design and sew garments using four natural fibers (cotton, linen, wool, and silk) to create four items for a complete outfit.
Drafting simple patterns and sewing by hand gives us the opportunity to center ourselves and practice a meditative way of working. Over the course of the year, we experience different sewing techniques, plant dyeing, embroidery, and other artistic techniques as we create our own unique fabric and garments.
Each class meeting includes artistic activities that bring enlivening impulses to us individually and as a group.
All levels of experience, from beginners to experienced fiber artisans, are welcome.
