LIVE LECTURES ON ANTHROPOSOPHY BY CYNTHIA HOVEN

The 4 weeks of Advent mark the beginning of the sacred yearly calendar. The old year dies away in November as the trees stand bare and the seeds are laid into the earth. Approaching mid-winter, the natural and human worlds anticipate the birth of the light in the darkness. We will consider the deeply empowering seed-thoughts of Advent to guide us through the month of advent and towards the holy festival of Christmas, when the Light and Love of the world entered the earthly world.

In the Christian tradition, the child of innocence was born in simple poverty, surrounded by the gentle animals in the stable. The sacred texts of Rudolf Steiner tell us that the birth we celebrate on Christmas Eve had been prepared since the beginning of the earth. The was the first incarnation of this child, born in utter innocence. This birth has profound significance for all human and all spiritual beings. In this cycle we will study who this child and this mother were, to whom the angels in heaven bowed down. And in anticipation of the life that he lived, we will look at how he grew in wisdom and in grace to become the carrier of the light of the world.
