AN ONLINE PRESENTATION BY THE FRAC TEAM

To prepare for going into the reverent time of Holy Nights and a sacred pause of the Cafés, the FRAC team would like to invite the community and guests to take part in an artistic imagination through storytelling as a way to bring about a special mood of what one individual experienced during the Christmas of 1946. The story is entitled Also a Christmas Story, written by Karl König. This story was based on a visionary experience he had on 23 December 1946, but due to its reverence, it took some time for him to be able to openly share the story with others.

The story is a very special one, one that is not only for Christmas. It is set in the raw Scottish landscape, starting at Advent time. It is a story that brings in images of what is necessary in human development for us to receive the Christ unto us; it takes us into a land of resurrection, it reverses expected polarities, and, it beacons us to understand what it means to feel love and joy.

Members of the FRAC Team will join in delivering this special Café Offering:

  • To note as well, we will also be joined by Deborah Grace, the North American Administrator of the Karl König Institute, who will join us in this Café and be a part of our conversations.
  • We begin with our faithful co-host, Jamie York, one of the original FRAC circle, who will greet us, help us to enter into the space where we can experience the Christmas story, and then be able to discuss in small groups what may have arisen.
  • Our candle will be lit and verse read by two more of the original FRAC circle, Tom and Dorothea Altgelt, who brought some of the sparks alive in leading the first Café on Good Friday of 2020, as the CoVID lockdowns first began.
  • The story will be read by Robyn Hauenstein, the latest member of the FRAC circle, who has worked together with the Karl König Institute to enable the sharing of this very special story in our Café offering of A Christmas Mood.  She is an avid lover of stories who loves to share them.
  • And if the stars all align, we will have a special guest musician to help us close the mood before the candle is extinguished, with a short German Christmas song that is near and dear to his heart.
