Dying and Returning. Robert McDermott will discuss his book in progress, Dying and Returning. In it, he describes death and the afterlife as understood in world religions, in the writings of Sri Aurobindo and Rudolf Steiner, and in near death experience research. Conversation will follow. McDermott is a former president of Anthroposophy NYC, professor emeritus of Baruch College, CUNY, president emeritus and professor emeritus of California Institute of Integral Studies, author of Steiner and Kindred Spirits (2021), and editor of The Essential Aurobindo and The New Essential Steiner.

Crossing the Veil and Coming Back to Life. Robert Cornett’s ensemble theater piece, directed by Ted Pugh, is based on the true stories of people who have reported near death experiences. All have been declared clinically dead or have experienced a medical crisis that brought them to the edge of death. Upon their return to everyday consciousness, they describe profound experiences and visions of life in the post-mortem realms and the challenges of sharing the experience with others and integrating it into their lives. Their remarkable and powerful stories convey to audiences a sense of the beauty, wonder, and hope about what the continuity of consciousness and life after death may be like.
