LYRE DUO CONCERT WITH SARAH STOSIEK & CHRISTINA PORKERT

The program for this concert was inspired by a collection of pieces for piano by the Catalan composer Federico Mompou called “Musica Callada” (Quiet Music). Even though his lifetime coincided with the conception of the lyre in 1926, he likely never saw or heard a modern lyre in his life, neither did Flor Peeters, a  Belgian organist and composer, who was born in 1903. Their music nonetheless gives the impression that it was composed just for the lyre! The program will be rounded off with music from the baroque era.
