Un-Sealing the Apocalypse: The Book of Revelations for Our Time

In Part 4 of the Un-Sealing the Apocalypse series, we will be exploring and highlighting the significant recurring role of the Archangel Michael in the past, present, and future, unfolding of the apocalyptic drama.

In his book The Apocalypse of Saint John, Dr. Emil Bock referred to the entire book as a revelation of Michael. Though he is only called by name once as leading the host of angels in the great battle with the dragon, Dr. Emil Bock identifies Michael as the strong angel who acts as the heavenly herald each time a new phase of the drama opens.

During his last years, Rudolf Steiner provided many important insights into the mission of Michael, he inaugurated the Michael School, and he ended his very last address, given on September 28, 1924, with a verse that begins as follows.

“Springing from Powers of the Sun,
Radiant Spirit-powers, blessing all Worlds!
For Michael’s garment of rays
Ye are predestined by Thought Divine.”

During the prolonged period of illness that followed, Steiner wrote The Leading Thoughts referred to as the Michael Letters, which have a lot to offer for our theme.
