The Year Ahead ~ A Stargazer’s Approach
AN ONLINE PRESENTATION BY MARY STEWART ADAMS
Mary will share several of the year’s celestial highlights as one way to discern the mood of what lies ahead of us in 2026. While New Moons, conjunctions, eclipses, and meteor showers recur every year, new impulses are always arising in human life. Does our knowing about these events affect their impact? Can our attention to their dates and times be a “speaking to the stars’? How do we fill the soul, as Rudolf Steiner described it, with the abundant harmony of the cosmos?
Mary Stewart Adams has been serving as General Secretary and President of the Anthroposophical Society in America since October 2023. For nearly 20 years prior to taking on this position, Mary led an international dark skies initiative that resulted in the state of Michigan protecting thousands of acres of land for its natural darkness. Mary received numerous awards for her humanities-based approach to night sky programming and her dedication to raising awareness about the harmful effects of artificial light on habitat, the misuse of energy resources, and the impact on human health and circadian rhythms. In additional to her role with the Society, Mary continues to host the weekly podcast The Storyteller’s Night Sky, to safeguard the human imagination by protecting our access to the night sky and its stories.
