FOLLOWED BY COMMUNITY CONVERSATION AND POTLUCK
Unlike in the pre-Christian times when communities were based on blood and tribal connections, modern communities are formed wherever people work together or strive for common goals or ideals; religious, educational, or professional. The call for new forms of community was given by Rudolf Steiner in 1923 through inauguration of the “reverse cultus” as the basic principle of anthroposophical community building. This was taken a step further at the Christmas Conference 1923-1924 when professional communities were entrusted with spiritual substance, which makes it possible to deepen their exoteric work through genuine esotericism.
Dr. Michaela Gloeckler, pediatrician, was the leader of the Medical Section at the School of Spiritual Science in Dornach, Switzerland, for 28 years. She is the author of numerous articles and books on child health, education, and social issues. Her latest major publication provides commentaries on Rudolf Steiner’s and Ita Wegman’s book Fundamentals of Therapy.
Dr. Gloeckler is a cofounder of the Alliance for Childhood and the European Alliance of Initiatives for Applied Anthroposophy (ELIANT). She lectures on aspects of anthroposophic medicine, social questions, and education nationally and internationally.
