ONLINE PRESENTATION BY ANN-ELIZABETH BARNES

Join us the exploration of the art of caring for ourselves and our loved ones at the time of death. Birth and death, two of life’s greatest threshold moments are often hijacked by modern-day methods. This session — Sacred Undertaking — guides you through the steps to reclaim the sacredness of the death process, so family members can create a meaningful experience as they help their loved one cross over, whether at home or in a care facility.

Join Ann-Elizabeth Barnes as she guides participants in charting their path towards the threshold. You will learn how to prepare advance directives, set up for a home vigil, prepare the body, and work with a funeral home to invite simplicity and sacredness into this threshold moment.

Ann-Elizabeth Barnes has been helping families care for their loved ones at home at the time of death for the past 20 years. After working together for a number of years, she and her former colleague, Jonitha Hasse, formalized their work under the name of “Sacred Undertaking, a Family Partnership.” Currently, Ann-Elizabeth and her colleague, Lynne Stolfo, continue to empower families in Columbia County, New York, and Berkshire County, Massachusetts, to care for their loved ones at death and after. Over 100 families have worked with Sacred Undertaking.
