The Challenge of 2023

John Beck has prepared “A Report from the Future – how the Anthroposophical Society met the challenge of the 21st century.” The goal of Rudolf Steiner’s initiative is to restore the true knowledge of being human to the heart of civilization. He also pointed out that the duty of esoteric students includes preparing the next cultural epoch—the social epoch, in our case, which will follow this individualistic time we live in.

Without the success of Steiner’s initiative, how can we expect a future to develop which will be worthy of us? If we take the right steps now, what can we expect in 2033?

The key points of the Report are:

The Challenge: to renew & extend Rudolf Steiner’s central cultural initiative.
Missed Steps: what did we fail to do since the Christmas Foundation?
Insight Into Our Times—appreciating the new historical moment and adapting to it.
First Necessities: to build resources, embrace outreach to people at large.
Path of Success: make our work culturally accessible and adapt to the new media.
The ASA in 2033: a vanguard of practical confidence in humanity.
The years 2023-2025 are the end of the century of influence of Steiner’s original work. We will renew it with our whole heart and mind and will, or let it become merely historical.

Communicating Anthroposophy

We will work together to examine how our communications can be evolved so that we reach the millions of people alive today who are open to the imaginations and inspirations we can bring.

Speaking so people can hear us…
“Anthroposophy” or “humanity”?
Spiritual Science? or “the fundamental human science”
The profound esotericism of ordinary life – the “mystery dramas” are unfolding everywhere…

The workshop is free.

Communicating a New Global Culture

Rudolf Steiner’s core mission is culture – the way we understand ourselves, our history, our relationships, our potentials, and the reality in which we live. This involves the reunification of specialized cultural fields that began splitting apart three thousand years ago.
Science – Art – Ethics/religion — and Humanity
Buckminster Fuller – communications in a technocratic age
Communications
The semiotic model: don’t leave out the receiver of the messages!
An inside and an outside
Re-languaging, re-messaging
