Playback Theatre is improvisational theatre, which is described as “An Act of Service” by its founder, Jonathan Fox. Now performed in 77 countries, it began at The Fellowship in 2023. The group has openings for a few new actors. A theatrical background is less important than the ability to be spontaneous and empathetic. Theatre, music, and movement are used in staging unscripted performances of audience members’ personal stories.
All necessary skills are taught by Paula Patterson, who trained with Jonathan Fox for three years, and has been leading and teaching Playback Theatre (PBT) internationally for over 30 years.
She can be reached at 352-562-1780 or at paulapatriciapatterson@gmail.com.
The first fall meeting will be on September 21 from 2 pm – 4:30 pm in the Pine Lodge Common Room at the Fellowship Community. The group generally meets on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month.
