THE BOOK LAUNCH AND A FREE WORKSHOP
Please join the author Renate Hiller and friends from the Fiber Arts Studio for this event, which will include a showing of knitted sample pieces and hands-on activities designed to deepen your application of natural fibers and the crafts of spinning and knitting.
The book is a practice and spiritual guide for all knitters and represents a distillation of years of research, practice, and teaching–in collaboration with many people–by Renate Hiller and Mikae Toma, former co-directors of the Fiber Crafts Studio, located in the heart of Threefold Community in Chestnut Ridge, NY. It has been beautifully designed by Claudio Rodriguez and incudes many photographs taken on the land of the Threefold Community.
Inspired by Rudolf Steiner’s teaching, KNITTING BY HEART is an invitation to slow down and create functional and beautiful clothing with loving attention–with head, heart, and hands, and with the health of our Mother Earth in mind.
A portion of the revenue from the sales of this book will be donated to the Fiber Crafts Studio’s Applied Arts Scholarship Fund.
