When Tobias Jelinek discovered the magical Steiner Community Center Stage, hidden down Martin Alley and boasting the quiet legacy of Mala Powers (actress, teacher, and executress of the Michael Chekhov Estate), he was inspired to bring new theater work and community Chekhov workshops to the space, reigniting the Chekhov/Steiner flame Mala inspired 30 years ago.

The Los Angeles-based actor and “The Inspired Actor Lab” founder, Tobias brings a transformative approach to performance and actor training incorporating Michael Chekhov’s pioneering exercises into his acting process, fostering a deep exploration of human experience and performance for stage and camera. Currently, in his final year at MICHA’s (Michael Chekhov Association) Teacher Training program, Tobias brings over 30 years of professional acting experience with many recurring roles on network television and major Hollywood films (including Stranger Things, Hocus Pocus, Marvel’s Agents of Shield).
