A Supple Voice Singing School invites you to a gentle and transformative summer intensive—an immersive singing experience rooted in the School of Uncovering the Voice. Participants may join live online from anywhere in the world, or attend in person at the A Supple Voice Singing Studio in Valley Cottage, NY, just outside Spring Valley and near the Threefold Educational Foundation in Rockland County, NY.
This is not a performance course. It’s an experience of renewal and reconnection with the breath, the tone, and the deep listening presence that lives within us all. There are no solos, only supportive group singing. All levels of experience are welcome.
Whether you’re a teacher, a parent, a spiritual seeker, or someone returning to this path—this course invites you to meet your voice as a gateway to greater trust, clarity, and vitality.
Rooted in the School of Uncovering the Voice
Developed by Valborg Werbeck-Svärdström in collaboration with Rudolf Steiner, this work invites us to transform the way we meet our breath, our tone, and our inner life.
“Every human being has a singing voice. Our work is to unveil, take away the hindrances, and free the voice.” — Valborg Werbeck-Svärdström
“Man has in his breathing a faculty capable of the highest possible development through the transmutation of his breathing process into song.” — Rudolf Steiner
“Unveiling the voice and transmuting the self through song are two sides of the same coin. These require sequential practices of preparation, centering, and expression, rising into moments of celebration of the self, which in turn opens the heart to connection with others.” — Shannon Boyce
This work is not simply vocal training—it is inner schooling. Through tone and breath, we begin to attune ourselves to the etheric rhythms that underlie all life. In balancing the life body with the physical body, the voice becomes a doorway through which the higher self may speak, sing, and shine.
The journey unfolds gradually—tone by tone, breath by breath. We do not shape the voice from the outside; we listen, perceive, and prepare the ground so the archetypal tone can reveal itself. This is inner work, artistic practice, and a path of transformation woven into one.
Whether you are a Waldorf teacher, an anthroposophical practitioner, or someone seeking to be enlivened through the voice, this course offers a gentle yet potent space for renewal and awakening.
