An Easter Workshop with Laura Summer

“He Is Going before You to Galilee: There You Will See Him.”

In the Synoptic Gospels, Christ’s disciples are told that they will see the Risen Christ “in Galilee.” We will explore what this could mean for us through various artistic modalities in the context of the last chapter of the Gospel of John where we find the disciples meeting Christ in Galilee.

Friday, 7:30pm – Opening Talk and Introduction to the Artistic Process
Saturday, 9:00am – 4:30pm – Three artistic sessions interspersed with the Consecration of the Human Being, lunch (not provided), and conversation
Sunday, 12:15pm – Presentation of work done and the process experienced

Suggested donation for the workshop: $40 – $150 (all materials provided)
Numbers are limited for this workshop so advance registration is required.

Laura Summer is co-founder of Free Columbia, an arts initiative whose mission is to facilitate art in
relation to the spiritual aspects of the human being and the world. She has been working with questions
of color and contemporary art for the past 30 years. Two of her paintings are hanging in the church.
