TWO ONLINE SERIES WITH JOHN GOULDTHORNE

Series I: October 14 through December 2, 2025

Series II: February 3 through April 7, 2026

A new opportunity is offered as an online introduction to a Goethean way of science. The Goethean approach is, first and foremost, a path of embodied and immediate encounter of the world. In this online course, however, we cannot engage together in the practice of direct sensory experience of natural beings. We can, nevertheless, develop the conceptual clarity to aid us in doing so. More specifically, we can become conscious of the habitual ways we tend to think and make sense of the world. We can also begin to make sense of ourselves and the world in a new way. We can do this by developing new concepts that offer the possibility of bringing us into a fuller experience of the natural world while simultaneously enabling a richer self-understanding of what it means to be a human being. This transformation of our concepts can make it easier to encounter the inhabitants of the natural world with wonder, with humility, and with respect. This online seminar courses aim to help participants gain conceptual self-awareness and work toward such transformation.
