AN ILLUSTRATED LECTURE BY VAN JAMES, ANTHROPOSOPHPHICAL SOCIETY IN HAWAII

In this session, we will review images of the Isis-Sophia-Mary Mystery as a precursor to the Mother and Child theme in history and art. This will lead us to the deeper question of how can we work with the healing nature of the Madonna and Child imagination and indications for just this given by Rudolf Steiner.

Van James is a longtime teaching artist, an international guest tutor at Steiner-Waldorf teacher training centers and university art departments in Asia, Oceania, and America. He is a council member of the Visual Art Section of North America, artistic director of the AnthrOArt Center in Taichung, Taiwan, a mentor for the Academy of Himalayan Art and Child Development, and editor of Pacifica Journal. He is an active visual artist AT Van James YouTube, and an award winning author of numerous books on culture and the arts, including Teaching Art History. He lives and works in Honolulu, Hawai’i.
