AN ONLINE PRESENTATION BY CHRISTIAN PETER
In the Mystery Dramas, the destiny of a group of individuals is portrayed over the course of several incarnations. We come to understand how actions from past lives shape the relationships in the present one. Through retrospective experiences, one can gain deeper insight into their fate and actively shape it with greater awareness.
Christian Peter completed his training in acting and speech formation at the Goetheanum (1976-1980), and was a permanent ensemble member of the Goetheanum stage, where he performed in significant roles (1980-2004). His most notable portrayals include the main characters from Rudolf Steiner’s Mystery Dramas, including Benedictus, the Guardian of the Threshold, and Ahriman; and the pivotal roles of Faust and Mephisto in Goethe’s Faust I and II. He has additionally directed several productions, including a choral speaking program with a large orchestra, Albert Steffen’s Barrabas, Sophocles’ Antigone, and Goethe’s Faust I and II in 1999 and 2016–2017. He also directs the current four Mystery Dramas at the Goetheanum.
