A TWO-PART ONLINE SERIES BY PATRICIA KAMINSKI

Rudolf Steiner characterizes our Earth as the planet of Redemption. The Earth is distinct in the whole of the Cosmos as the place where death is encountered but also the resurrection of matter through Spirit. In the biodynamic compost pile, we can meet this core mystery by experiencing how decaying matter becomes Living Earth. Patricia’s two-part talk will focus on the 6 compost preparations that are used to alchemically redeem and enliven compost. We will discuss their archetypal relationship to the planets of Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, Venus, Mercury, and Moon as well practical indications and healing themes. One of the goals of Rosicrucian alchemy is to understand that the human encounter with substance involves re-visioning the laboratory as a New Altar, or place of offering from Earth to Cosmos. We will see that the Biodynamic Compost pile can be the site of a New Altar when understood and practiced with knowing depth.

Patricia Kaminski is the Executive Director of the Flower Essence Society, a worldwide collegium of practitioners who research and heal with the subtle essences of plants. She is also the Developmental Director of Terra Flora, a Demeter-Certified Biodynamic Garden, Nature Sanctuary, and cottage industry in Nevada City, California.
