AN EXHIBITION OF WORKS BY GERARD WAGNER

A painter, researcher, and teacher Gerald Wagner (1906 – 1999) devoted nearly 70 years of his life to color and painting based on indications by Rudolf Steiner, through lectures, demonstrations, and Steiner’s “training sketches” for painters.

By working with these sketches, which Wagner researched from many points of departure, he discovered their inherent lawfulness in the form of specific color sequences. Furthermore, he observed that subtle variations within particular color sequences led to surprising changes in form and motif. These discoveries provided a secure foundation for all his further artistic work.
