WECAN Early Childhood Educators Conference

TOWARDS A KINDER, MORE COMPASSIONATE SOCIETY: FINDING OUR WAYS

February 10-12, 2023, in-person at the Green Meadow Waldorf School, Spring Valley, NY

Our February Conference will continue for a third year to work with the theme “Towards a Kinder, More Compassionate Society. This year our focus will be on Finding Our Ways. There will also be an emphasis on collaboration throughout the conference. Pairs of presenters from WECAN’s Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access Committee and Early Childhood Research Group will share insights out of their own inner and outer work, and after the Saturday and Sunday morning presentations, there will be facilitated conversation groups on the conference theme. Presenters will include Nancy Blanning and Anjum Mir, Lynn Turner and Leslie Wetzonis-Woolverton, and Laurie Clark and Stephanie Hoelscher.

And, of course, there will also be a wide variety of workshops, as well as puppetry, eurythmy, an in-person vendor hall, and many opportunities to meet with one another over meals, refreshments, and a Saturday evening dessert café. 

Study Material: In preparation for the conference, WECAN will publish reports and transcripts from the 2022 conference keynotes and workshops. The scheduled date of publication is December 2022. It will be available together with other resources at the WECAN online bookstore.

Attendance at the conference is open to those who are active in Waldorf early childhood education, as well as educational support teachers, care group members, eurythmists, specialty teachers, and class teachers.

Conference participation this year is limited. Registration (via WECAN website) will open in December and will close in late January, or when we sell out!

Conference Registration Fees: 

$260 Non-WECAN-Affiliated-Participant

$230 Participants who work in WECAN-member schools, institutes and kindergartens

$200 WECAN Individual Members (Participants who have paid their annual dues and are individual members of WECAN) – Please note, your Individual Membership must be up-to-date before registering for the conference.
