Imagining the Real with Zvi Szir

We will have a rare opportunity to experience the ideas and imaginations of cosmic evolution by painting them. Zvi Szir is co-founder and director of the newARTschool in Basel, Switzerland, where he has been teaching painting, contemporary art, and anthroposophy for the last 24 years. He is a painter, writer, and lecturer.

Zvi will be leading three workshops on the following:

Week 1, July 11-15: How can we imagine and paint the event of the big sacrifice at the beginning of the world? (Old Saturn Imaginations.)

Week 2, July 18-22: A world of light and air; how to create unimaginable figures? The human being in its paradisical plant-like stage (Old Sun).

Week 3, July 25-29: The soul is a cosmic battleground; can we re-imagine the images of the fall from grace? Lucifer and the art of painting.

Each each week is a stand alone course or you may take all three weeks together.

Cost: Suggested contribution $400 per week; sliding scale $0-800

Rudolf Steiner encouraged us to form imaginations and pictures of cosmic evolution. How can we do this? Working artistically with these themes is a powerful way to go beyond the intellect into true understanding. Zvi has years of experience leading painters and not yet painters into realms where true discovery can happen. If you don’t consider yourself a painter, don’t worry ! That is not a requirement. Your interest and wonder is plenty to begin with. Join us at Lightforms Art Center for this inspiring course.
